In what may come as a crucial blow to the government, anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare has decided to go against the Congress party in its Hisar by-poll campaign. Anna Hazare has claimed that he has received support from all parties, except the Congress for an inflexible Lokpal Bill. He plans to embark on a nationwide tour, beginning with Hisar.
“I will appeal to voters in poll-bound Hisar in Haryana not to vote for Congress as it deliberately did not pass Jan Lokpal Bill,” said Anna to reporters. “I will not tell people who to vote for. Locals know who is capable and who is corrupt. They will decide. But I will urge them not to vote for any Congress candidate. No matter how good they are, they will be under a remote control,” said Hazare.
Anna also added that he would send a video message to the people, if he could not make it in person to Hisar, exhorting them not to vote for the Congress party. He also stated plans of going to 5 states that are poll bound, urging people not to support the respective candidate fielded by Congress.
