Telangana: Updates on 17th Day of Strike

Activists for the separate state of Telangana launched their strike in front of the residences of the Congress Ministers and State Legislators in Hyderabad and other districts. They were arrested by the police. In a separate incident JAC Convener M Kodandaraman was arrested and placed in custody, during the course of his participation in the protests.

Earlier an escalation of protests was witnessed, with the launch of ‘Sakala Januma Samme’ or strike by each section of the people. The latest to join the strike are newspaper vendors who stopped paper delivery.The strike has entered the 17th day, with members of Telangana JAC preparing for a complete shutdown of Hyderabad on September 30th, the day set for the deadline.
