In an obvious jibe to the Central government over the darkness that has been prevailing in the North Indian states, Chief Minister of Gujarat Narendra Modi has asked if the government plans to follow any ‘coalition dharma’ regarding the matter.
“Pradhan Mantri ji, 60 cr people & 19 states are in darkness. Country wants to know is there any coalition dharma you are following here too”, tweeted Modi. The tweet caught on like wildfire, with over 600 people retweeting the same in less than 30 minutes.
“With poor economic management UPA has emptied pockets of common man; kept stomachs hungry with inflation & today pushed them into darkness,” added Modi.

North India has been struck by a grevious power crisis, with three electricity grids connecting over 20 states, including the national capital Delhi, collapsed. The northern grid failed for the second day in a tow, the eastern and north-eastern grids also collapsed. Combined, the grids carry approximately 50,000 MW of electricity. This has led to more than half of the country being powerless, disrupting all essential services.
