Salman Khan’s ‘Mission Pakistan’ to Secure Sarabjit’s Release

Bollywood hero Salman is up again for another humanitarian cause: this time for the release of Sarabjit Singh. He has stated that he is even ready to head for Pakistn, if need arose.  He has pledged his commitment to Dalbir Kaur and Sarabjit’s daughter Swapandeep regarding his commitment towards the cause of bringing Sarabjit back to India. Khan was extremely moved by the repeated pleas made by Sarabjit’s sister Dalbir Kaur, especially after a goof up by the Pak government regarding his release.

Salman has launched an online petition seeking support for Sarabjit’s release. The actor said, “Requesting the Pakistan media , govt and people to consider his freedom , send him back to Punjab to be with his his family. It would be a superb gesture on their part. For over 20 years, Sarabjit Singh is in a Pakistan prison for a crime he did not commit. He and his family have suffered for too long. Please sign this petition to appeal to the Pakistan government that he be freed and united with his family in Punjab,” said Salman in his petition.

Meanwhile, Dalbir who was in Mumbai along with Swapandeep met Salman at Mehboob Nagar Studio to thank him for his help. “Salman has told us that he will be with us till the time my father does not come back from Pakistan. He has also told us that if need arises he will go to Pakistan to request freedom freedom for my father,” said Swapandeep.

“I came to Mumbai to thank him for what he has done for us. He spent about two hours with our family. He has given us a lot of hope,” said Dalbir following her meeting with Salman. She also met members of the film fraternity Mahesh Bhatt and Raza Murad etc.
