The World Trade Centre, Duabi hosted the first South Indian International Movie Awards. The function saw a galaxy of stars from the South film industry consisting of actors and actresses from Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.

“I am proud to be an Indian, but I am more proud to be a South Indian tonight,” said Vikram, Tamil superstar, as as he accepted the award for the Best Actor Critic Award from Sridevi and Boney Kapoor.
